Description

Are you looking for a fun way to relate to kids in your children's ministry? Kevin shows how ventriloquism works wonderfully. He includes many of the scripts he wrote in the pages of "I Know What You Know, Adventures in Gospel Ventriloquism," and links to videos of those skits, as a learning tool. He also tells how he comes up with ideas for characters and skits. Writing scripts can be challenging. This book contains many of the cleverly worded scripts Kevin wrote, as well as pointers to write scripts of your own. Kevin features several loveable characters presenting Bible truths through skits such as: I Ain't a Sinner, Animals Don't Need to Repent, My Bad Now is Now a Good Now, Squawkers and Talkers, Smart Phones, and Mudwrestling. I really like this book. It will be a blessing and help to all who buy it. Kevin has a real gift for skits. They are hilarious. I think his play on words are genius. - Joyce Heiser, Author "I have never known much about ventriloquism. Kevin presents a good look into the craft. This was a funny and informative way to present the Gospel to your audience." - John Crissman, Funnyman Extraordinaire It is with great joy I recommend Kevin Boekhoff's newest book, "I Know What You Know: Adventures in Gospel Ventriloquism." As a Gospel ventriloquist, I am always on the lookout for material that is Biblically sound, humorous and entertaining, has a definite truth and lesson to teach, and leaves latitude to adopt the material to my own style. Kevin's book is all of these. You won't be disappointed purchasing this book. - Bill Matthews, Evangelist and Ventriloquist, Child Evangelism Fellowship, Monroe County, NY.

About the Author

Kevin lives in Sioux Falls, SD, with his and their Yorkshire Terrier, T. Bone Dickens - both find their way into the pages of his books. He was and was diagnosed in 2009 with Parkinson's disease, although he lived with it for years prior. He is an ordained Baptist pastor and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in theology. He served as a pastor of a Baptist church in North Idaho for ten years. After losing his job, he found himself unable to continue his hobby of fixing and repainting cars. He turned to writing. He always enjoyed creative writing, but rarely did it. He found that he felt physically better when he wrote creatively. He describes it as fun. He began writing his memoirs and submitted stories to magazines. He found others liked them and published them. He has won six awards at Humorpress.com and one at the Storyteller. He finds writing therapeutic and it fits into an unpredictable schedule - he writes what he can, when he can. He revived his ministry of Gospel ventriloquism in order to compile "I Know What You Know Adventures in Gospel Ventriloquism." His Parkinson's disease hinders travel and even the operation of many of the figures. However, Danny B. Wood, Joey and SNAFU still hang out with Kevin. He currently has two other books, "I Forgot That I Remembered," a humorous slant on life with Parkinson's disease and "Just Me: Humorous, Helpful and Odd" which consists of finding humor in every life.
