Mr Tammer is a bilingual English-Turkish children's story set on a lovely, sunny island in the Mediterranean called Kibera. This is where Mr Tammer lives with his wife Mrs Tammer and their little dog Papatya. Mr Tammer is a gifted carpenter and craftsman, loved by all, who creates beautiful objects for the adults and children in his community and brings joy and laughter wherever he goes. The story is about love and friendship, generosity, community and sharing. At the end of this story there is a page by page explanation and glossary section to further aid your understanding of the text. Mr Tammer is both a children's story and a language book suitable for adult learners who are new to these languages. If you have read my previous book, 'Beginners Turkish Language Course' then this children's story will help you develop your language skills particularly with regard to sentence structure. I was born in the Karpaz region of Northern Cyprus into a Turkish Cypriot family. At the time Cyprus was a British colony, and continued to be one until 1960. All Cypriots born before 1960 automatically became British subjects. My family moved to the UK where I grew up speaking two languages, English and Turkish. I have always been interested in art, world culture and languages. Drawing, painting and writing all played a big part in my life growing up. I feel very fortunate to have been able to spend over fifteen years working as a freelance illustrator for major publishers, design and advertising agencies here in the UK and overseas. In recent years I have enjoyed being able to use my Language skills to assist others in the technical/software and medical industries with their interpreting and translating needs. I founded Turkoise Publications in 2015 in order to publish my own illustrated language books for adults and children. My previous book 'Beginners Turkish Language Course' is available as a kindle book from Amazon.
