INTRODUCTION "If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children. "- Mahatma Gandhi" A child is born innocent and if nurtured with tender care and attention, then he/she grows in positive way. Physical, mental, moral and spiritual development of the children makes them capable of realizing his/her fullest potential. On the contrary, harmful surroundings, negligence of basic needs, wrong company and other abuses may turn a child to a delinquent. With changing societal trends, children now appear to possess strong likes and dislikes and also show expressions that indicate maturity at a very early age. These qualities also make children more vulnerable to the designs of the criminality such as abusers, peddlers, and traffickers. Moreover, the influence of the media on the psychosocial development of children is profound. With advent of communication technology in recent times, a child's exposure to media including television, radio, music, video games and the Internet, has increased manifold. Children are considered to be gifts from God so we as parents, guardians and society have a duty that children should be allowed and provided opportunity to grow up in a healthy socio-cultural environment so that they could become responsible citizens. It is the duty of the State to provide equal opportunities to all children for their development during the period of their growth. The future of our world depends on the children. So Children are expected to be obedient, respectful and have good quality in them. However, due to various reasons certain percentage of children do not follow settled social and legal dictum. Such children are most often than not get involved in criminal behaviour which is known as juvenile delinquency or juvenile crime. Many experts believe that the present law is inadequate to deal with the situation and we need changes in it so that for heinous crimes juveniles may also be tried and punished as adults. But there are views in opposition as well which do not subscribe to this view. The epic Mahabharata known as panchamaveda - is one of the greatest examples of the development of children indifferent atmospheres. Pancha-Pandavas,
