Description

The history of the Divine Mercy devotion is deeply rooted in the experiences and writings of a Polish nun named Saint Faustina Kowalska, who lived in the early 20th century. The essence of the devotion revolves around the infinite mercy of God, as emphasized in the visions and teachings Saint Faustina received.Saint Faustina Kowalska: Born in 1905 in Poland, Helena Kowalska entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in 1925. She later took the name Sister Maria Faustina of the Blessed Sacrament. Throughout her life, she claimed to have mystical experiences and visions of Jesus Christ, particularly emphasizing His Divine Mercy.
When I walked into church the following morning, I heard these words inside of me: "Every time you enter the chapel, recite the prayer that I taught you yesterday."
I heard in my spirit when I finished the petition, "This prayer will serve to appease My wrath." It will be said for nine days on the rosary beads in the following way: You will say, "HAIL MARY," "ONE OUR FATHER," and "I BELIEVE IN GOD" first. Then, using the OUR FATHER beads, you will recite the following: "In order to atone for our sins as well as the sins of the entire world, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ."
Say the following on the HAIL MARY beads: "Have mercy on us and on the whole world, for the sake of His sorrowful Passion." Finally, you shall say these three times: "Have mercy on us and on the entire world, Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One" (Diary, 474-476).
"Oh, what wonderful blessings I will bestow upon those who recite this chaplet... My daughter, please write these words down. Tell the world of My kindness; let all people know of My boundless compassion. It is an omen of the end times; the day of justice will follow. Let them drink from the fountain of My mercy while there is still time; let them benefit from the Water and Blood that flowed forth for them (Diary, 848).
