People who have been exposed to anthrax or specific types of plague are also treated with it. The use of ciprofloxacin extended-release is only permitted in adults.Fluoroquinolone drugs have potentially irreversible, significant, or debilitating adverse effects.Only infections that cannot be cured with a less dangerous antibiotic should be treated with ciprofloxacin.
